The Olympic Bid and not so free speech?

From our friends at Deadspin …

This is rather unfortunate as Boston epitomizes the right to free speech more than any other American city.

It also begs the question, why did the bid go to a city that absolutely doesn’t want it?

Rutgers a possibility for another 5th year graduate transfer

Kaiwan Lewis, Middle Linebacker for The University of South Carolina, may return home to New Jersey as a 5th year graduate transfer. Lewis played as a true freshman but battled injuries the rest of his career and only played in 8 games this season.

He hopes to follow in the footsteps of 4 other players who arrived on the banks in the last few years and became starters all at positions of need like the one Lewis may be able to fill for the graduating Kevin Snyder.

– RJ Dill (Maryland): Dill came to the Knights after 32 career starts for the Terrapins. He became a steadying force and contributor on the revamped Rutgers offensive line in 2012 when he started every game.
– Lewis Toler (Western Michigan): Toler appeared to be a godsend for the Knights in 2013 who lost their top 3 cornerbacks to the NFL. He started immediately at one corner spot opposite the revolving door that included Ian Thomas. Toler breaking his arm against Louisville weakened a pass defense that would fall apart shortly after.
– Nick Marsh (Utah): Marsh replaced Australian Dean Crozier who could not enroll at Rutgers at the 11th hour. This after Justin Doerner’s uneven career. Not only did Marsh have a steady season punting, but he handled kickoffs which was especially key with the Federico/Borgese struggling pair at placekicker.
Andrew Turzilli (Kansas): Turzilli battled injuries and tough competition to be a starter and deep threat for the 2014 Knights. He also was the inspiration for the “Do it for Drew” campaign as Rutgers emotional rallying cry to get him to a bowl game for the first time in his career. He didn’t disappoint, coming off injury and catching a 34 yard touchdown pass from Gary Nova in the Quick Lane Bowl.
