Jets midweek notes – week 1 edition

Week 1 of the NFL is finally here! For all of us that had our season end in week 17, surely the most painful for Jets fans of any team, trumped only by the Vikes first round playoff exit by missing a chip shot field goal. (At least it got me over the Mets hangover from blowing 3 world series games in the 8th or later.)

Perhaps you are still reeling from the Jets cutting a former first (Milliner) and second round (Amaro) pick in the last week. Or their most recent second rounder with one off the oddest, baddest stat lines … now he’s in a redshirt year.

Or maybe you hate Giacomini, but are questioning that now that the Jets don’t have a clear cut replacement with any legit experience.

For a team that has drafted poorly the last few years, they should have the same squad as last year for the most part that could challenge for a playoff berth, but flipping from the easiest schedule to one of the hardest might make it impossible.

Here’s to the 47th attempt to reach their 2nd super bowl! Only 4 teams have a longer drought!
